Will WWE decide to explain Punk's absence on Raw?

Are WWE going to explain the issues of CM Punk walking out?

CM Punk, fed up with the creative direction of his character, hurt, and burned out from extensive traveling, walked out on WWE just hours before Monday Night Raw one week ago. It was a huge story at the time and while buzz has died down a bit, it's still an intriguing subplot to the "Road to WrestleMania".

What makes it even more interesting is the fact that WWE has yet to publicly acknowledge that Punk ever went home.

Sure, there have been a smaller scale hints at dissension, like the company Twitter account unfollowing "The Straight Edge Superstar" and an e-mail sent out to WrestleMania Axxess ticket holders that Punk would not be in attendance in April. But outside of that, nothing.

Nada. Bupkis.

In fairness, tonight's (Feb. 3, 2014) episode of Raw will represent the first show since the walk out. This could be the date WWE decides to run an angle explaining Punk's absence. Or perhaps the powers that be embark on a smear campaign like they did to Stone Cold Steve Austin when he walked out back in 2002.

In his preview for the show, my colleague Sean Rueter pondered a few options.

Either way, we'll likely know more after tonight and WWE's bizarre silence will undoubtedly be broken.

...

Right?
